On 2nd Dec I will be awarded my NATO medal for my tour of duty in Kandahar Afghanistan. As part of the citation I looked up RAF Saxa Vord, as your previous service is commented on at these presentations, and found this site. I am now a SQNLDR (RAAF abbreviation convention) but in 1987 I was FltLt Shawn Fitz-Gerald and was the last Officer Commanding Shetland Radar. I think you may have me down as Sean Fitzpatrick - close but no coconut8~). The memories did come flooding back, not all good sadly however a lot of water has flowed betwixt then and now.
